Recognition distinctions

LayerQuestionWhat it does not establish
Cryptographic verificationDoes the signature and presentation verify?Issuer authority, citizenship, legal recognition or trust acceptance.
Issuer authorityWas the issuer permitted to make this exact claim?Permission for the requested action.
Civic recognitionDoes Eviulon recognize the subject's internal standing?Recognition by an external state or organization.
External legal recognitionDoes a foreign legal order accept a status or document?Full diplomatic recognition of Eviulon.
Trust-policy acceptanceDo verified facts satisfy this relying party's bounded policy?Universal trustworthiness or reputation.

Trust domains

A relying party declares trusted issuers, accepted schemas, maximum evidence age, required authority and prohibited conditions. Eviulonian constitutional systems must also reject policies that erase protected status or substitute a universal score for due process.

Unknown issuers

An unknown issuer remains unresolved or denied for the requested purpose according to policy. The system must not crash, invent trust or describe the issuer as fraudulent solely because it is unfamiliar.

Privacy

Pairwise or scoped identifiers, selective disclosure, local policy evaluation and privacy-aware status checks reduce issuer, verifier and cross-domain correlation.

Failure behavior

When status, authority, evidence or policy cannot be resolved, the result is explicit: stale evidence, insufficient evidence, policy unavailable or cannot determine. An outage does not create or erase citizenship.
