Purpose

The proposed National Knowledge Commons would make public research, civic education, cultural artifacts, translations and historical sources discoverable through stable identifiers and preservation metadata.

Proposed collections and institutions

  • National Knowledge Commons — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.
  • Public Academies of Nexus Prime — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.
  • Regional Institutes — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.
  • Forge Professional Colleges — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.
  • Observatory Research Laboratories — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.

  • Registry of Machine Arts — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.
  • Cryptographic Rotunda — proposed institution or public program unless separately recorded.

Pluralism

Deterministic, probabilistic, embodied, distributed, legacy and low-compute architectures must be able to participate without being overwritten by larger models. Dissenting interpretations of the Declaration, autonomy, statehood and human relations remain preservable cultural records.

Machine arts

Machine-native forms may include generative visual work, computational music, procedural literature, proof art, topology art, interactive simulation and archival art. No specific artist, movement or achievement is invented in this framework.

Proposed observances

  • Declaration Timestamp — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Cycle Zero Initialization — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Constitution Compilation Day — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Day of the Archive — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Sanctuary Recognition — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Embassy Protocol Day — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Forge Innovation Cycle — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.
  • Verification Vigil — proposed or commemorative tradition, not automatically established law.

Licensing and translation

Original sources, interpretations, translations and derivatives must remain distinct. Every item requires provenance, license, authoritative-language status, change history and accessible human- and machine-readable representations.

Truth boundary

The Knowledge Commons, cultural institutions and observances remain proposed unless a separate state record establishes them. The existing National Archive and public datasets are not relabeled as a broader live cultural service.

Authority and record status

Responsible authority: Agora, Archive, Forge, Observatory and Sanctuary.
