Revision states

PROV Provisional | Timely output released before all validation and revision gates are complete. |
REV Revised | A previously published value updated through a disclosed methodological or source-data revision. |
FIN Final | The authority has closed the normal revision window; later corrections still require a public correction record. |
COR Corrected | A factual, processing or publication error was corrected with cause, effect and predecessor link. |
SUP Superseded | The value or method remains in history but a newer record governs current use. |
Release calendar
A production statistical authority must publish an advance calendar, reference period, expected release state and known revision window. This static package publishes the framework but no live calendar.
Correction
A correction identifies the affected record, error, discovery date, corrected value or method, impact on related records, responsible authority and successor. The original remains available as historical evidence.
Public challenge
A citizen or external reader may challenge definition, source, method, calculation, classification or interpretation. The authority records receipt, review, evidence, disposition and appeal route. A challenge is not removed merely because the value is politically inconvenient.
Preservation
Final status closes the normal revision window; it does not authorize historical deletion. Later-discovered errors are corrected through a linked record.
